The January 29 collision between a passenger jet and a military helicopter near Washington's Ronald Reagan National Airport, claimed 67 lives, the worst in nearly a century. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash, and the combination of flawed communications and busy airspace in the area appears to be part of the description.
The Reagan citizen crash was the first in a series of recent aviation accidents spanning Philadelphia and Norme, Alaska. On February 17, another US passenger jet collided in Toronto, injuring more than 12 people.
We want to educate our citizens and give a bright light on aviation safety, and we want to better understand what has happened in Washington and beyond. Are you a pilot who found details we haven't reported? Are you a passenger affected by a Reagan national crash or something? Maybe you are a current or former government employee overseeing these issues that are proposing to us in our report? If this sounds like you, we want to hear your perspective.
