Save the dates for the 2025 Ocean Festival in Scottburg! – Tourist News Africa

The highly anticipated Ocean Festival will return to Scottburg from June 5th to 8th to celebrate World Ocean Day next month. Again, this epic event will include cleanup, talk, live music, sports and entertainment programs, as well as the Ocean Warriors National Series, the new event of the year.

This year's event is fully embraced by the global Ocean Day theme of catalyzing ocean and climate action with this year's Ocean Festival's action-packed lineup of events.

Event Organizer Barry Lewin commented: “As part of the third annual Ocean Festival, we look forward to welcoming everyone to Scottburg on the South Coast of KZN to celebrate World Ocean Day. The festival celebrates our oceans through lifestyle, sports, education and community outreach.

“This year we are reviving our popular event program and bringing back our life-saving race, Ocean Warriors National Series, as a way to support and celebrate our incredible Ocean Warriors. We recommend saving the dates of this year's festival.

Highlights of the festival include the Leatherback Ram Aliwal Shoal Ski Challenge, which attracts some of the country's top paddlers. Clean up beaches, rivers and coral reefs that bring together all ages and communities. So does great entertainment, from film screenings to live music.

The Ocean Festival celebrates ocean days around the world.

    1. Engagement: Encourage human connection to the ocean through fun outdoor events and activities.

    2. Education: Talk about marine health and raise awareness about its conservation.

    3. Economics: Supports coastal economy and local businesses in coastal towns by boosting tourism through marine festival events.

Winter in Scottburg on the KZN South Coast is one of the best times to visit, and the subtropical climate makes this an outdoor destination all year round. With Pilot Blue Flag Status, Scottburg Beach is a very wonderful beach for the family, with grassy embankments to relax, great swimming, surfing and diving.

Don't miss these Ocean Festival events!

This year's Ocean Festival attendees look forward to engaging outdoor events and activities suitable for all ages. These include:

    – Leather back rum Aliwal shawl surf ski challenge

    ・Ocean Warriors National Series

・Beach Cleanup at Scottburg Main Beach | Aliwal Shoal Scuba Diving Reef Cleanup | Paddle and Cleanup on the Muffron Wa River

    ・Saambr announced school education workshop

・Ministry of conservation science and research presentation

・Exclusive film screening at Premier Hotel Cut Circle

    ・Live music and entertainment night

    ・Sunrise Beach Yoga & Movement

We would like to thank Ocean Festival sponsors, including Halfway Group, Leather Back Ram and Pump Smith.
