Scandinavian flag carrier Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has announced its expansion of its global network by expanding its codeshare agreement with Air France-KLM, offering its customers more travel options.
The first time SAS passengers can fly to Fortaleza and Salvador Devahia in Brazil, as well as Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa, the airline announced on February 26, 2025.
According to SAS, travelers can book flights to these new destinations, and the number of codeshare routes in Europe and beyond has increased.
“The partnership with Air France-KLM continues to unlock new opportunities for travelers and is now excited to offer our customers the first time they travel to Fortaleza and Salvador de Bahia.” “This is just the beginning. The list of codeshare destinations continues to grow, improving connectivity and convenience for both SAS and our partner customers.”
This codeshare extension will be added to existing codeshare agreements between Air France and KLM in Europe, as well as existing codeshare agreements from Tokyo. SAS signed an Alliance Adherence Agreement (AAA) with the SkyTeam Alliance in April 2024.
With this expansion, SAS now offers expanded connectivity from Scandinavia, including new destinations in Asia such as Osaka and Bangkok, as well as several new destinations in Brazil, including Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Fortaleza, Salvador de Bahia, and Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa.
