Ryanair has launched a series of “rescue flights” amid closures at London's Heathrow Airport. The Budget Airline said in a post on X on Friday morning that the flight will be on sale from 9:30am.
We're coming after the Heathrow boss confirmed that the airport will be closed until 11:59pm today (March 21st) after a “significant power outage” caused by a massive fire in nearby electrical materials. A Heathrow spokesman previously said:
“To keep passengers and colleagues safe, we will have no choice but to close Heathrow until 23H59 on March 21, 2025. We are hoping for significant disruption in the coming days, and passengers should not move to the airport until the airport is reopened.
“We will provide updates once more information is available on reopening operations. This is a shame for passengers and we want to reassure them that they are working as hard as possible to resolve the situation.”
In a social media post, Ryanair said: “Ryanair will begin eight rescue flights for passengers affected by the Heathrow closure. Friday: 2 x Dublin to Stansted 2 x Stansted to Dublin Saturday: 2 x Dublin to Stansted 2 x Stansted to Dublin from 9.30am to Dublin available.”
