Ryanair has announced a new subscription service in the hopes of attracting more ordinary passengers to the airline. With annual fees, Europe's largest airline offers benefits to those who sign up for subscriptions branded as Ryanair Prime. Hard and soft benefits include free booking seats, free travel insurance and access to monthly member-only seat sales, ensuring Prime members have the “best flight bargains” throughout the year.
The service, launched on Monday, March 24th, is said to allow members flying 12 times a year to save up to £420 and more than five times their prime subscription costs of over £79, according to Ryanair. People who fly three times a year also earn savings. Ryanair claims these passengers will save £105.
“For the past 40 years, Ryanair has been providing the lowest fares (and best services) in Europe. With the launch of an exciting new subscriber discount scheme – Ryanair's “Prime,” we are expanding our price leadership,” said Dara Brady, chief marketing officer at Ryanair.
“Ryanair 'Prime” is a new subscriber discount scheme for frequent flyers who want to fly regularly but don't want to break the bank. It costs £79 for a full 12 subscription.
Membership is limited to 250,000 on a first come, first served basis, so interested individuals must quickly register on the airline's website. Those who sign up also have the option to add Ryanair Prime Companion to their subscription for an additional voucher fee.
For the fiscal year ending March 2024, Ryanair carried a whopping 184 million passengers, reaching customer satisfaction rates of over 85% per month between January 2024 and February 2025.
Dara Birdy has described signing up for the service and signing up as “easy” for those who enjoy flying regularly.
Currently, Ryan Air Prime is only available to people living in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, the UK, Poland, Portugal and Spain. Passengers signing up for the new service must be at least 18 years old.
