Rwandair was named Africa's best regional airline at the prestigious 2025 World Airline Awards called the Oscars of the Aviation Industry.
The award reflects Rwandare's central role in bringing African countries closer together while connecting the continent to the world.
As one of Africa's fastest-growing and most ambitious airlines, Rwandare continues to gain global recognition for its high service standards and reliability.
The award was hosted by SkyTrax at the iconic National Air and Space Museum during the Paris Air Show.
“We're looking forward to seeing you in the future,” said Yvonne Makolo, CEO of Rwandair.
“As well as being a regional aviation leader, it also reflects our mission to connect Africa to the world with ambition and world-class African hospitality.
“As an airline, we are transforming Africa's aviation into a new era of growth, opportunities and innovation.”
SkyTrax CEO Edward Plaisted added: “Rwandair continues to clearly focus and distinguish the attention of its services and congratulates it on winning this award at the 2025 World Aviation Awards as Africa's best regional airline.
“Airlines have created an experience that stands out in that category as they continue to evolve their local products with confidence.”
The World Aviation Award was introduced in 1999 and provided a truly global customer satisfaction survey.
Travelers around the world vote in the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to determine who will win the award.
The online survey was conducted between September 2024 and May 2025, with over 100 customer nationalities participating and 22.3 million eligible entries counted in the results.
All survey entries were screened, IP and user information was identified, and duplicate, suspicious, and ineligible entries were removed. Over 325 airlines have been featured in the survey results.
