Rwandair won the Top Award as the best regional airline in Africa at the 2025 World Airline Awards held at the Paris Air Show's iconic Aerospace Museum on June 17, 2025. The award event is hosted by SkyTrax, an international air transport rating organization.

The award shows a continuing increase in passenger recognition in Rwandare, and research feedback focuses on the airline's attention to service details across all elements of the travel experience.

Rwandair has become a well-known figure for its awards in recent years, and continues to gain visibility among local travelers.

SkyTrax CEO Edward Plaisted said: “Rwandair continues to clearly focus and distinguish the attention of its services and congratulates it on winning this award at the 2025 World Airline Awards as Africa's best regional airline.

    World Aviation Awards 2025

The World Airline Awards are completely independent and impartial, introduced in 1999 and offer a truly global customer satisfaction survey. Travelers around the world vote in the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to determine who will win the award. The award has been called the “Aviation Industry Oscar” by media around the world.

All costs for the survey and award events are paid by SkyTrax and the airline does not pay admission or registration fees. There is no fee for using the award logo and results.

The online survey was run from September 2024 to May 2025, with over 100 customer nationalities participating, with 22.3 million eligible entries counted in the results. All survey entries were screened, IP and user information was identified, and duplicate, suspicious, and ineligible entries were removed. More than 325 airline features in the survey results.

Customer surveys were provided in English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Turkish, Russian, Japanese and Chinese.
