Rabat – Ministry of Digital Migration and Management Ministry of Reform, Royal Air Maroc (RAM), and Digital Development Agency (ADD) signed a partnership on Monday to support Morocco's digital transformation. The agreement was announced in the third edition of Gitex Africa, which will be held in Marrakech from April 14th to 16th.
This partnership is part of Morocco's national strategy, Digital Morocco 2030, and follows the directions of Mohammed VI.
According to an official statement, the goal behind the partnership, which is part of Digital Morocco 2030's national strategy, is to “speed up innovation in the travel sector” and make Morocco a “crucial hub for travel tech in Africa.”
The agreement focuses on three key goals to support digital changes for the airline and travel sector. First, RAM will act as the official airline for Gitex Africa. This will provide domestic carriers with more visibility and offer special travel deals to participants and African startups.
Second, the three partners aim to boost Morocco's TravelTech ecosystem by identifying, supporting and promoting innovative startups in travel and air transport. To do this, we will launch programs such as the RAM Digital Open Innovation Initiative, Regional Roadshows, the Mentorship program, and a new national label called “TravelTech Innovator.”
This partnership encourages knowledge sharing and collaboration. Co-development of training sessions, experience sharing events and digital solutions will be carried out to promote stronger collaboration and startups between the public and private sectors.
Finally, the contract includes specific actions to help private travel businesses become digital. These include access to platforms such as Moukawala Raqmya and Academia Raqmya and awareness workshops to improve digital skills in the industry.
