The Radisson Hotel Group continues to solidify its leadership in the hospitality environment in Africa, with W Hospitality Group's 2024 “From Pipeline to Reality” top rankings documenting the report to achieve the most hotel openings across the continent within a year. Based on this momentum in the first quarter of 2025, the Radisson Hotel Group announced its market entry into the Democratic Republic of Congo with the signatures of two landmarks, further strengthening its presence in Central Africa with the signatures of the Radisson Blu Hotel and apartments in Cameroon.

Over the past 15 months, 11 hotel signatures and seven openings have been held in total over 2,000 signatures and 1,000 openings through 1,500 rooms, 1,000 rooms and conversions, and the group has strengthened its position as a leading hotel company in Africa, with a diverse portfolio of 100 hotels in over 30 countries. This growth reflects the continued success of the group in delivering focused expansion strategies, strong local partnerships, and high impact transformations.

“In line with our global achievements, we have achieved remarkable growth across Africa over the past 15 months. We have expanded to new markets such as Tanzania, Conakry and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, further strengthening our position as the most diverse hotel company in terms of presence in the country.” “Our pipeline is the most active in the industry, has emphasizing momentum, and highlighting the quality and clear strategies of our partners. Again, we are proud of our group leading African rankings. We look forward to celebrating these successes and unlocking ongoing economic value across the continent.”

Expanding footprint: new market entries and key openings

The Radisson Hotel Group will sign two landmark properties: the Radisson Blu Hotel, Kinshasa and the Radisson Hotel Lubumbashi to proudly announce its entry into the Democratic Republic of the Congo, further strengthening the group's presence in Central Africa.

Radisson Blu Hotel, Kinshasa – Opens late 2026
Strategically located on Tshatshi Boulevard in Gombe district, Kinshasa's main residential and business area, this luxury hotel offers 110 elegantly designed rooms, including standard rooms, suites and presidential suites. Guests can enjoy a variety of dining options, including a lobby bar, an all-day dining restaurant, and a pool bar. The hotel's wellness facilities include a gym, massage rooms and an outdoor swimming pool with pool terrace. Its modern conference and event spaces have an event hall and pre-functional area, making it perfect for both corporate and social gatherings. The hotel is conveniently located 32 km from N'Djili International Airport, 10 km from N'Dolo Airport and 6 km from Gare Centrale Station.

Radisson Hotel Lubumbashi – Opening in mid-2027
Located on Revolution Road Avenue in Lubumbashi, the second largest city in DRC, this luxury hotel offers 97 stylish rooms including standard rooms, junior suites and presidential suites. Food includes a lobby bar, an all-day dining restaurant and a rooftop bar and grill with panoramic city views. Hotel meeting and event facilities consist of three flexible meeting rooms and dedicated functional areas. Guests will also have access to a fully equipped gym and swimming pool. The hotel enjoys its main location near Lake Kipopo, surrounded by luxury residences and renowned landmarks such as the Lubumbashi Golf Club and La Plage, and is just 12 km from Luano International Airport.

In Guinea, the group marked an important milestone at the opening of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Conakry, just three months after its signature. Located in the city's lively Kipe district, this modern beachfront property features 282 stylish rooms, suites and apartments, offering ocean views and convenient access to the city's main business and leisure hubs.

The Radisson Hotel Group, which further strengthened its portfolio in the Indian Ocean, has opened with the signature of Crystal Beach Resort Bellmare, a member of Radisson individuals. Located on the east coast of Mauritius, the resort offers 234 spacious accommodations, family amenities and breathtaking lagoon views, making it a destination sought after by travelers of all kinds.

“We have had a track record of success over the past 15 months, focusing on conversions, including Crystals Beach Resort Belle Mare, Radisson Blu Hotel, Conakry, Radisson Blu Hotel & Convention Center, and Tunis, all the great hotels that further enhanced our African portfolio,” Rankousi added.

Strengthening strategic markets and future pipelines

In Cameroon, the Radisson Hotel Group continues to strengthen its presence with the signature of Radisson Blu Hotel & Apartments, Yaoundé. The 150-room facility, set to open by the end of 2026, is ideally located in the heart of the capital, just a 30-minute drive from Yound Nesi Malen International Airport.

The hotel has a lively dining venue, including a lobby bar, an all-day dining restaurant and a specialty restaurant. With 1,350m² of flexible meeting and event space, a premium wellness facility, including a spa, gym and a rooftop pool with a vast pool deck, the hotel will become a groundbreaking destination in the city. The signature could also strengthen the ongoing pursuit of growth opportunities across Cameroon, including Douala's key markets.

Meanwhile, the Radisson Hotel Group is deepening its commitment to key markets across the continent.

Morocco: Targeting 30 hotels by 2030, based on an already robust development pipeline. South Africa: We aim to reach 25 hotels by 2030, doubling our current footprint. Nigeria: With entry into the DRC, the group is strengthening its West Africa presence and continues to grow momentum through multiple developments.

“While geographic diversification remains a priority, we also see clear opportunities to consolidate their existence across key markets such as Morocco, Nigeria and South Africa, each with at least one opening scheduled for 2025.
