Qantaslink has chosen the Embraer E190 to replace the aging Fokker F100 fleet operating in Western Australia.
Qantas' regional units say they intend to acquire up to 14 medium-term E190s, the first aircraft to enter the fleet around the end of 2026. It discloses details about the acquisition, including a timeline at the time of delivery, when it solidifies its plans.
The E190 will be operated for Qantaslink by Network Airlines and charter flights in the state resource sector, which operate passenger flights.
The Perth-based carriers include 15 F100s in the fleet, in addition to the Airbus A320 and A319.
The four F100s are set to be replaced by four A320s inherited from the closure of Qantas' Singapore-based low-cost unit Jetstar Asia. Three of the four A320s will enter the Network Air Fleet by the end of the year.
Qantas is an existing operator of the E190. Airline business data shows that there are 29 use cases.
