As the countdown to Africa's Travel Indava 2025 intensifies, South Africa's tourism has established an industry-led advisory committee to ensure the seamless execution of this premier travel trade event. This dedicated panel, made up of leading industry representatives, meets weekly to address key aspects of the show, working together to enhance its impact and provide an even better experience for exhibitors and buyers.

The initiative will represent the larger tourism sector, drive profitable decisions and strengthen our commitment to partnerships and collaboration in ensuring that travel in Africa remains a world-class business platform that promotes true value for all participants.

It focuses on key factors such as exhibitor and buyer engagement. Logistics efficiency; programme strengthening; and overall event quality; the advisory committee consists of the following members:

    •David Frost – Satsa

    •Suzanne Bailey – Classic Portfolio

    •Kgomotso Ramothea – Atta

    •Andrew Camp – Sun International

    •Dorcas Dlamini – Marriott

    •Martin Botha – Tourvest

Their feedback, insights and strategic guidance will help shape world-class events and ensure that African travel indava continues to be a global trading platform.

Several members of the advisory committee expressed their excitement at the initiative.

    David Frost:

“It is a privilege to be part of the African Travel Indava (ATI) Advisory Panel, representing SATSA membership. It is an important and visionary step towards deeper collaboration, ensuring that the voices of key private sector stakeholders are taken into consideration. By cohesive and constructive concerns of the industry, you can make ATI a world-class event. Let's work with SAT COO, Darryl Erasmus and his team to pull a good panel together and make ATI ham.”

    Dorcas Dlamini:

“African Travel Indava is an important platform that highlights the diverse and natural beauty of the continent. The success of this event not only boosts tourism, but also creates opportunities for local communities and entrepreneurs. Furthermore, it contributes to its position as a living continent in Africa with great potential. It is an honor to contribute to the success of this important showcase and participate in this journey.”

    Andrew Camp:

“African Travel Indava has stood the test of time as an important annual show for our continent. We are committed to supporting us as regular annual exhibitors and South African tourism partners. It is our duty and privilege to ensure that we are here to introduce our award-winning products, services and destinations to global buyers. See you!”

    Martin Bota:

“Tourvest's inbound travel brand sells South Africa to the world and has been active in the global source market for decades. Tourism in South Africa has played an important role in the marketing of this destination, and there is no more proud time than when all local, regional and international stakeholders gather in Durban for Africa's travel indava each year. It has become an annual tradition in tourism calendars. Tourvest is committed to making this show a success and is committed to ensuring that the world of travel continues to gain valuable insight into South Africa's diversity, culture, history and wildlife.”

    Suzanne Bailey:

“In 2025, our Classic Portfolio looks forward to another positive and productive trip to Indaba in Africa. Our Classic Stands are fully booked and once again we are proud to host all our members along with some select partners. Together, they represent some of the best privately owned camps and lodges from 11 African countries.”

    Kgomotso Ramothea:

“I am honored to be part of the African Travel Indavour Advisory Panel. This is an opportunity to promote meaningful conversations that will help bring positive change and make ATIs a success for the interests of the African continent. I look forward to sharing insights, promoting innovation and helping to position Africa as the best global travel destination.”
