Aeroflot Group's budget carrier Pobeda is hoping to expand with the Boeing 737, drawn from a fleet of sister operators.
Dmitry Tishuk, general director of Poveda, who has been leading the airline since August 2022, said the 737s will be forwarded when aeroflot and Rossia update the narrow body fleet with aircraft built within the country.
Talking to the Russian Business Publications RBC, Tishzczuk explained that this would allow Poveda to maintain a single type of fleet.
The carrier operates 42 737-800, and this fit is “essential” to the company's business model, says Tyshchuk.
“We plan to integrate the Aeroflot Group Boeing 737 when Russian-made aircraft enter the group,” he said.
Aeroflot has 37 737 and Rossiya has 14.
Tyshchuk supports newly modified Russian regulations that allow for wet lease aircraft from other airlines, but says it is interested in the 737-800 aircraft to operate the type independently.
The Aeroflot Group intends to update its single Isle fleet using the Yakovlev MC-21, but this type has not yet joined the service.
There are 78 Yakovlev SuperJet 100 (the only Russian-made aircraft type in the group), almost all of which are part of the Rossiya business.
