The hotel is perfectly located to explore the town of Burford and its incredible medieval history and architecture. According to a Domesday book, in 1086 there were 200 people living in the town.
The town is named after three arched bridges across the Windrush River, taken from the old British bull, meaning fortified town, meaning a river crossing and Ford.
The charming stone cottages lined up the streets are a great photo opportunity and I'm a grade that lists St. John the Baptist Church, worth a look.
