As the weather improves, you may be thinking about trying out beautiful outdoor spots to explore in the coming days and weeks.
Whether hiking, long walks, sunbathing or picnicking, the UK has plenty of great spots for the whole family to enjoy the day. But people say “I can't believe it.” They only discovered one picturesque Staffordshire location named Kimber Edge.
Kinver Edge is filled with incredible scenery, wildlife paradise and unusual homes carved into the rocks. The area is home to soft red sandstone, which looks like Arizona, USA.
Sandstone has a network of spongy houses built into three rocks – the rocks of the nanny, the rocks of the veil, and the sacred Austin. According to the National Trust, the early records of people living in eccentric rock houses were in 1777. These were some of the last cave dwellings in England, where the family lived until the 1960s.
Nearby you will find plenty of pubs and restaurants as well as a historic walk that once stood by ancient citizens. One woman went viral recently after sharing a video clip of her experience with “Hidden Gem.”
Bella, a woman from Birmingham, loves to share her best walking spots, travel tips and food recommendations. She recently visited Kinver Edge, about 45 minutes from Birmingham, and said:
“We followed the purple arrows and took about two hours. This allowed us to pass Nanny's Rocks and National Trust Rock House. The area we are exploring here is completely free, but the Rock House costs money. I think it's £7.50.
She described the location as “amazing” and said the walking route was easy. The trail is approximately 6.4km and is considered a reasonably challenging route. The trails are open all year round and are dog friendly, but they must be on the lead.
Bella added: “Because parking is free on Compton Road or Kingsford Lane.”
The individual, as stubborn as Bella, commented, “Wow, I can't believe this is in the UK, what a wonderful place.” “It looks good,” he agreed to another. “So beautiful, I can't believe I didn't know about it,” another wrote. “The amazing things nature is giving us,” another pointed out.
“This is where I played my Dofe (Duke of Edinburgh). It was amazing, I recommend it.”
Another shared their experience, saying, “Oh, I did this a few weeks ago. A lovely little walk. The Rockhouse is sooo cute! They have vegetable soup and the kids have delicious scones in the cafe.”
In another video, Sarah, who shares what she needs to do in the West Midlands on page @stufftodowestmidlands, said, “It's like a Grand Canyon.” She concluded that the Kinver Edge views are “the best in West Midlands.”
