Emirates Skycargo is partnering with Astral Aviation, one of Africa's leading freight aviation, to explore ways to boost global trade with the continent.
Astral Aviation operates an extensive in African network of 50 destinations offered via scheduled and ad hoc charters.
In line with the vast global network of over 145 destinations and passenger aircraft fleets and dedicated cargo ships, the partnership highlights Africa's prominence as a competitive player in global trade.
Both airlines bring special experiences in handling sensitive cargo, including fresh fruits, vegetables and life-saving medicines.
The deal was signed in Air Cargo Africa by Sanji Fugadia, senior vice president of Emirates Sky Cargo and CEO of Astral Aviation Limited, and Badru Abbas, senior vice president of Emirates Sky Cargo.
Under the terms of the MOU, Emirates SkyCargo and Astral Air will work closely with many initiatives, including expanding interline options for cargo and expanding space contracts, increasing connectivity and increasing the scope of African companies.

Economic investment cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and Africa continues to grow, with the United Arab Emirates now the number one GCC and the fourth largest global investor in Africa.
Emirates Sky Cargo first launched its operation in Africa in April 1986 on its first flight to Cairo, Egypt.
Over the next 40 years, airlines have steadily expanded and increased frequency. Currently, 172 passenger flights in Africa offer customers seven scheduled cargo ships and bellyhold capacity on 172 passenger flights.
