Middle East low-cost carrier Salamaa is looking for another 10 Airbus A320 family aircraft to support operational development.
Omani Career said the expansion will take place over the next three years and aims to meet the increased demand for passengers.
Salamair is making requests for 10 twin jets with “multiple” aircraft lenders.
The carrier has brought in two A321s this year, bringing the fleet to 15, and will grow to 25 by 2028 under the latest expansion plans.
Chief Executive Adrian Hamilton-Manns says the airline has “a perfect aircraft” and “more demand than we can meet.”
He says over the next five years, airlines will need to develop their networks and expand to introduce routes to “now unused” destinations.
“Our low-cost models are extremely popular and the plan (to expand the fleet) is to respond to the demands seen for budget travel,” adds Hamilton Mans.
“We see other airlines moving into this market as there is obvious demand, which is a positive as competition reduces fares and benefits consumers.”
Salamair transported more than 3.2 million passengers last year, up 20% in 2023 figures.
