Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), an innovator of global cruise travel, has announced plans to rethink the NCL's idyllic private island in the Bahamas, celebrating the official baptism of Miami's all-new Norwegian Aqua. As the company has provided guests with a variety of choices, freedom and flexibility, and flexibility, the company has confirmed additional plans to be revealed in the future, highlighting how NCL offers more relaxation, more family activities and a holiday on the island with dedicated areas for guests of all ages.
The baptism ceremony, rooted in the maritime tradition of blessing the ship before officially beginning a marine life, took place at the LEED® Gold certified terminal in Port Miami and included a special appearance by Norwegian Aqua Godfather and two-time Emmy® Award-winning actor Eric Stonesleet. The event also included amazing surprises and great news about NCL's private island destinations in the Bahamas.
To launch the ceremony, more than 2,000 guests attended were treated to a preview of the latest in-house production of “Revolution: A Celebration of Prince.” NCL president David J. Herrera followed an astonishing performance with a surprising reveal and surprising and bullying. Herrera has announced its company's plans to expand Private Island, one of NCL's top guest rating ports. Later this year, guests will be looking forward to a vast area where guests can absorb the warm Bahamian sun with their oversized heating pool, as they open at the same time as the Multiship Pier is completed. The soon-to-the-island hotspot will offer an experience for the whole family, including a fun water fountain and a splash zone with features for kids, as well as a swim-up bar for guests who want to enjoy unlimited open bar packages from the ship.
In addition to the debut of a new multi-ship peer later this year, guests will be stomping on track and greeted with an attractive welcome centre and a handy new tram service that offers an easy way to roam the island and head for vacation mode. The island's development plan also includes expanding guest's favourite onboard experiences to Great Stirrup Cay. The island features a new Vibe Beach Club, an outdoor lounge for adults only with private cabanas, loungers and other upgraded amenities, and Horizon Park, an all-new recreational area that recently debuted in Norwegian Bliss and Norwegian Breakways. The island is known to continue the authentic beachside Bahamian vibe. A new relaxation area comes back to life with swaying hammocks perfect for an afternoon nap, as well as other tiki-inspired amenities and experiences that have not yet been revealed.
Herrera highlighted that these enhancements are just the beginning, and that more NCL are rethinking to complement NCL's current offerings and reaffirm the company's promise to provide what guests like about NCL cruising.

The ceremony continued with comments by Robert Lundberg, captain of Norway's Aqua. Rev. Pete Pera of Rise Community Church gave the official blessing of the ship, hoping to travel safely for everyone on board. John Cherneski, NCL's Senior Vice President of North American Sales, set in Eric Stonestreet, an Emmy-winning actor and Norwegian Aqua's godfather.

The baptism event ended with a ceremonial bottle break across the ship's hull. This is started by Stone Street and means good fortune and safe travel for all who sail on the life of the ship.
Following her baptismal voyage, Norwegian Aqua arrives in Port Canaveral, Florida. St. Thomas, the Virgin Islands, United States; Trutla in the British Virgin Islands. and Great Stirlap Cay, a company's private island in the Bahamas. From August 2025 to October 2025, she sails a series of five-day warm weather voyages from New York City to Bermuda before returning to Miami for the seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruise season from October 2025 to April 2026, and calls Great Starpkay again.
