Nigeria and Egypt have signed an expanded Bilateral Aviation Services Agreement (BASA) and a memorandum of support aimed at improving air connectivity and strengthening aviation cooperation between the two countries. The agreement, which was completed following a meeting in Kuala Lumpur, is consistent with the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC) BASA framework and reflects the two countries' continued commitment to regional integration and sector development.

Nigerian Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keamo described the contract as a strategic step to boost tourism, trade and knowledge exchange. Egyptian officials have repeatedly expressed feelings and reaffirmed Egypt's interest in long-term cooperation with Nigeria across economically impacting sectors, including aviation.
