Montenegro is named one of the world's most underrated countries. There is also a unique version of Niagara Falls. US News says that the Balkan country often flies under the radar of most travelers, especially when compared to neighboring country Croatia.

Montenegro is a small country with a population of just over 600,000. There are beautiful beaches along the Adriatic Sea, offering spectacular views of the mountains and medieval towns. However, the country's biggest pull factor is the Cijevna Falls, Niagara Falls in Montenegro.

The best time to visit the waterfalls is during the summer. It is just a 10-minute drive from Podgorika.

Lonely Planet says that locals are often seen watching locals soaking up the waterfalls in early summer.

If you're looking for a little culture on your trip, you can visit Kotor and Perusto, the historic town of Kotor Bay, which is listed on UNESCO.

Other highlights to visit Montenegro include rafting through the Tara River Canyon, the deepest canyon in Europe, and relaxing at Svetistefan Beach or hiking in Dermiter National Park.

With billions of pounds spent building the marina, big names often sunbathe off the coast on superyachts, and there are plenty of five-star hotels in the world's largest chain available along the beach.

The hottest months to visit Montenegro are July and August when temperatures reach 28c.

June and September are also good times to visit the country if you are looking for slightly cooler temperatures to surface around 24C.

The country is an underrated place, so flights are generally very cheap, with a flight from London Stansted to Podgorica in June costing £31 each way.
