The small, remote Greek island offers views comparable to some of the more popular tourist destinations in the same region. Located between Patmos and Karimnos, Leros is said to be stunning and calm. Lesser-known quiet spots are worth discovering and the perfect destination for anyone looking to explore untraveled paths.

Also, tourists will be able to frequently take advantage of the above islands and options such as the small Lipsi, Rhodes and Kos, so there is an option for those who want to travel to multiple islands at once. According to Greek reporters, in ancient Leros, Goddess Artemis was recognized as a guardian of wildlife and hunting. The ruins of the temple dedicated to Artemis are located near Partheni, a site that emphasizes his historical and spiritual connections to the Goddess of Leros.

The lush valley welcomes brave travelers to the island alongside the hilly landscapes and beautiful cliffs that fall into the sea. On the hill is the ancient Agia Marina, close to the must-see landmark of the impressive medieval castle of Pantelli, built in the 11th century.

The island's historic Platanus has neoclassical buildings that are still unpreserved, and it's worth a look if you're still on the island. Places you shouldn't miss include Turkish baths and paraskef from the Agia Church, the city's ancient cathedral.

Among the architectural choices offered are the governor's house and public market, city hall and public library.

The village of Lacchi, a coastal town, is different from many other Greek ports. Tourists will find well-laided settlements built in the architectural style known as the “Italian Radionarismo” that was the most popular in the 1930s.

Rukki's original name was Portrago. Natural Bay was a feature that attracted Italian occupying forces in the early 20th century and provided plenty of space for transportation. The region remains as evidence of attempts to transform the Italians into Italian territory.

To reach Leros, you can choose a ferry departing from Athens. The island also has a small airport, allowing you to reach the Greek capital within an hour. The island is a popular option for pedestrians and hikers to see special spots such as the lighthouse.
