Man praised for refusing to exchange plane seats after couple's request | Travel News | Travel

The man was praised for refusing to switch seats on the plane, allowing him to sit next to his girlfriend during the flight.

The 29-year-old returned from a business trip and had booked an aisle seat in advance. He was taller, so he wanted a little more feet so he could stretch out during flight.

His peaceful journey was interrupted when another passenger realized he had sat alone and approached him in “favor.”

    He shared on Reddit:

“I look at his seat. It's literally the second western spot on the plane. I say, 'Sorry, I've booked this specifically.”

He empathized with the man's desire to swap seats, but he gently explained that he was willing to sacrifice his comfort.

He continued: “He said, 'You're sitting alone, man. What do you need for?' I said, 'Because I paid for it.

“He called me 'compassionate loneliness'. That was interesting. He felt guilty and guilty to accept the less desirable seat. The flight attendant had to ultimately instruct him to take his seat or remove his face.”

In a final social media post that expressed his sloppyness, he added: “Couples don't take priority over those who planned earlier. Sorry.

While many users praised the person for owning the company, others spoke of their encounters with “qualified” passengers on the flight.

One commenter said, “This happened on a 12-hour flight from Korea to Toronto, when the person said his girlfriend started baiting and eventually someone nearby had a deal with her.

“I was so mad that they gave her crocodile tears.

“This poor little Asian woman was locked in the middle seat for 12 hours instead of an aisle seat, as a rather young white woman could take command.”

Others said, “In plane seat war card game, lonely loneliness beats the losers every time. Especially defeats the losers that are too cheap to buy a seat in the aisle.”

Sharing a similar story, the third individual commented:

“Then she asked if I could sit with him (in the middle seat of another row).”

They continued, looking back at the fairness of the situation.

Expressing their decision, they replied, “I said no. She replied, 'It's no harm to ask.' Not that, but don't expect anyone to take a downgrade to give you an inadequate upgrade. ”
