Majongkan real estate agents have denounced home sellers to benefit from foreign buyers and are “grudging” about them. Maria Antonia Bermejo told Diario de Mallorca that the agent will sell the property to buyers for “outrageous” prices to make more money.

An agent at the Mallorca Guest Propiedad Agency said: “We're talking about 300,000 euros or 400,000 euros on a flat that covers just 80m2. It's ridiculous because we're guessing too much at the price and waiting for foreigners to pay what they want,” the agent added. “Mallorcans complain, but they sell real estate to foreign buyers to make more money.”

Currently located in the Right Mauve, a 55-square-foot one-bedroom one-bathroom apartment in Soller's tourist hotspot, selling for £324,678 (385,000 Euro).

Her comments coincided with a new wave of protests released across Spain by the “Tien Nation of Canary,” and among other demands, greater regulations on holiday lets and tourist housing are being called for.

As the number of visitors reached record highs, people were called to preserve the homes of locals in popular tourist hotspots in Spain, Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands.

There was widespread concern about the housing shortage as the homes were left without tourist licenses, as the houses were washed away on unregulated holidays.

Currently, the most serious offenders will be fined up to £425,635 (Euro 500,000) for unregulated holidays without a tourism license.

There will also be a freeze on new tourist licenses for holiday rentals in the Balearic Islands.
