A groundbreaking redevelopment of South Africa's historic carousel site is underway, placing 500 hectares of property as a large, multipurpose tourism and motorsport destination. Located in the northwest, Limpopo, Gauteng and Mpumalanga provinces, the project represents the region's largest private sector investment in decades. Over the next three years, the venture is expected to generate 900 jobs while consolidating under the “World World World” concept, which integrates tourism, hospitality, motorsports, conservation and event infrastructure.
The three-phase project, through 2027, will include FIA standard motorsports facilities, conference and exhibition spaces, eco-commonting and conservation-centric theme parks. Ongoing Phase 1 focuses on mouse infrastructure, hotel upgrades and residential development. Future phases will introduce motorsport-related retailers, light industrial zones and nature-based tourism products. The carousel will have the ability to host events for up to 20,000 participants, and will be an important catalyst for the region's economic development and a key new draw, both domestic and international tourism.
