If you have a European travel plan this summer but don't want to break the bank on your holiday, there's one place where you can go to the taste of luxury without a large price tag. Which new research? We've revealed where the cheapest luxury hotels in the world are.
A team of researchers sifted through a list of hotels advertised as five stars on Hotels.com, finding the most affordable and luxurious accommodation in the world. Researchers ruled out properties in hotels with lower customer ratings than eight out of ten, especially in areas that are difficult to reach. In Europe there was one clear winner – the Grand Hotel Continental Bucharest in Romania.
For £87 per night, this centrally located hotel has a concierge that recommends the restaurant by booking turndown services and tickets. In addition to hot tubs, saunas and gyms, there are fine dining options such as silverware, candelabra, baroque furniture and vest waiters.
One guest said the hotel offered a “magnificent experience at an affordable price.”
Romania is an overall affordable destination, with daily necessities in just a small portion of UK prices.
Romanian capital Bucharest features tree-lined streets, charming museums, stunning architecture and a thriving hospitality scene, with pints available for £2.41 and bottles of wine for £5.16.
In addition to its low prices, Romania is home to cities where amazing scenery and bustling cities explore.
Bucharest is also one of the easiest cities to walk to in Europe, so it's easy to get around.
The city is located on the banks of the Dumbovi River, which flows into the Arge River, a tributary of the Danube.
Some lakes – most importantly, her lakes, Floreaska Lake, Tey Lake, and Corentina Lake, spread across the northern part of the city.
