Luggage handlers warn passengers not to pack one item | Travel News | Travel

Airport luggage handlers have revealed items they won't pack when they go abroad this summer. Millions of Britons have flew this summer, with many escapes in sunny destinations such as Spain, Portugal, France and Italy. Most of them need to travel to the airport to where they go and pass through airport security. For those who will be on board this summer, there is one item that you need to make sure they are not included in your suitcase.

John, a luggage handler who works at Ireland's Dublin airport, told RSVP Live that passengers should avoid avoiding marzipans in suitcases. This is due to the display that appears when it passes through the security screening machine. In fact, this food could appear on security machines as explosive due to its dense makeup. According to experts, it can have a density of about 8-11 ounces per cup.

John said, “Don't pack Marzipan into your luggage. It has the same density as the explosives, so the bag will be removed and called out from the plane to search for the bag.”

He added: “If the bag cannot be scanned automatically, it may end up being a manual process.

Additionally, John says there are several measures passengers should take to reduce the likelihood that passengers are delayed in airport security before arriving at the airport. He instructs tourists to remove stickers from their bags before passing through airport security, as they can cause problems during the scanning process.

He also says that common travel habits can cause problems with airport security. He revealed that “ribbons that help people to pinpoint suitcases and identify them can cause problems with bags being scanned in baggage holes.”

Another travel expert recently advised passengers not to pack certain items. “Many travelers are captured by seizing items without realizing that they count as liquids such as lip gloss and liquid eyeliner, or foods such as sauces and jams,” said Cody Candee, CEO and founder of Luggage Storage Company Bounce.com.

“If you can spread, smear or squirt the item, it's usually a liquid. If you're not sure, pack it or leave it in your check-in luggage.”
