Luanda, Angola will hold its second ICAO Ministerial Conference on UN Tourism and Air Transport in Africa from July 22-24, 2025. The high-level event aims to strengthen cooperation between the aviation and tourism sectors to enhance connectivity, investment and sustainable growth across the continent. With international arrivals reaching 74 million in 2024, the conference is at a critical time for the revival of the African travel industry.
Convened under the theme of “Promoting the synergy of tourism and air transport for inclusive and sustainable growth,” the conference brings together ministers, policymakers and industry leaders. The session will focus on gaps in air connections, investment in infrastructure, regional integration, regulatory harmony and innovation. The event led to the adoption of Minister Luanda's statement and outlines the joint priorities that position tourism and air transport as Africa's central development drivers.
