Television and radio presenter Lisa Snowdon has been appointed as “Chief Joy Officer” at the new Riverside Hotel and is tasked with expanding support among her guests. For only one day, Lisa took on the role of CJO, delighting the guests when they arrived for their stay.
The appointment was made to mark the launch of the reserve at Runnymed, Thames in Windsor, Warner Hotels' latest flagship destination.
Speaking about her unique role, Lisa stated:
“In my role as Chief Joy Officer, it was great to take the time to meet guests and enjoy a lot of things that really make a short break a magical thing.” Lisa also found herself enjoying the spa facility and taking part in a masterclass that makes cocktails.
Snowdon's new role as CJO is in line with research commissioned by Warner Hotels, highlighting the positive impact of short breaks on raising the spirit of the nation.
Sue Wolton, general manager of Runnymede, Thames, commented:
“It was great to work with Lisa to help her showcase the joy she brings as an advocate for mental, physical and mental well-being that was the perfect candidate for the role.
In a survey of 2,000 British people, almost half (46%) secretly anticipate their next holiday, and want to be free from the humility of everyday life.
On average, Brits take three short holidays a year, but two-thirds want to get away more frequently. However, financial constraints, demanding job commitment, and busy lifestyle often prevent people from taking frequent breaks.
Polls show that 31% believe that short breaks can help improve mood significantly and improve happiness. Others said that the short break helped me reconnect with my loved ones.
When booking short holidays, 51% identified the value of money as the most important factor. However, guests are increasingly considering factors beyond accommodation alone.
An overwhelming 90% agreed that the overall experience, from local tourism to taking part in new experiences, is that short breaks are an exception.
During the trip, people visit local attractions (50%), enjoy tasting delicious food and drinks (49%), and spending quality time with their loved ones (41%).
Other important considerations include the availability of exciting activities (26%), various entertainment options (24%), and picturesque environments (19%).
“We've been working hard to get the better of our customers,” said David Mardin of Warner Hotels.
“Whether it's a quality time spent, whether it's reconnecting with your loved ones, trying new things, relaxing in a beautiful setting, or creating memories that last a lifetime.”
