The Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC) has officially launched its Tourism Sector Certification Program at Maseru, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Sports, Arts and Culture. The initiative aims to raise service standards, promote quality assurance and strengthen Lesotho's positioning as a competitive and reliable tourist destination. The program introduces a structured framework to accredit tourism operations in line with internationally recognized benchmarks for safety, quality and hospitality.
Designed to support business development and promote sustainable growth, the program provides clear service guidelines, promotes certified operators and establishes consumer protection mechanisms. At launch, Acting LTDC CEO Mamello Morojele noted that the program marks a new era of professionalism for Lesotho's tourism sector. The ministry's stakeholders and the Tourism Council highlighted the role of the initiative to coordinate tourism services with national development priorities and foster a reliable, inclusive and investor-friendly tourism environment.
