Twelve people were killed when Lancea's British Aerospace Jetstream 32 turboprop crashed shortly after taking off from Roatan Island in Honduras on March 17th.
The search team rescued five people, according to Honduras National Police.
Aircraft registration HR-AYW operated flights to Latiba on Honduras' north coast. This is a flight distance of approximately 35nm (64km).
Preliminary information suggests that the aircraft equipped with the Twin Honeywell TPE331 Turboprops suffered engine troubles during takeoff from Roatan's Juan Manuel Galvez International Airport.
A few seconds after it was in the air, it collided with the ocean about 1 km from the runway.
The aircraft carried 17 people, including two pilots and 15 passengers, according to the Honduras Civil Aviation Authority, which is under investigation.
The national police worked with other services to rescue some people from the water.
