Kenya, in collaboration with the Kenya Hotel Keepers Association and the Catala Association (KAHC), aims to attract 5.5 million international visitors each year by 2027 as part of a new strategy led by the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife. The plan was announced at a consulting meeting in Nairobi. There, stakeholders pledged stronger collaborations to promote the growth of tourism segments, particularly meetings, incentives, meetings, exhibitions (mouse), wellness, sports and digital nomadic tourism.
Tourist Secretary Rebecca Miano highlights the potential for job creation, particularly among young people, who make up nearly 75% of the hospitality workforce. The Kenya Tourism Authority highlighted the importance of joint efforts to increase the country's global visibility and competitiveness. In 2023, Kenya recorded a 2.4 million tourist arrivals, up 14.6% from the previous year.
