Kenya has been selected to hold the 37th International Air Transport Association (IATA) Ground Handling Conference (IGHC) held in Nairobi from May 13-15, 2025. This is the first time an event has been held in Africa. The Landmark Conference, organized in partnership with Kenya Airlines, highlights the expansion of aviation capacity in Africa and is expected to attract global industry leaders, including Kenya President William Root, IATA Director Willie Walsh and Kenya Airways CEO Allan Kilavuka.
IGHC 2025 will focus on modernizing ground operations, improving workforce development and collaboration across the aviation value chain. As part of IATA's broad focus Africa initiative, the event aims to strengthen continental operational standards while creating economic opportunities across the industry. For travel professionals, enhanced ground handling leads to improved customer experiences, increased connectivity and a more resilient travel ecosystem.
