The Kenya Tourism Bureau has launched a new global campaign, a journey through the wild centres of East Africa, aimed at placing Kenya as a major destination for adventure tourism. Developed in collaboration with BBC Storyworks Commercial Productions, the multimedia series follows travel photographer Jack Swynnerton, gaining wildlife, natural beauty and cultural diversity across Kenya's landscapes with land, water and air.
The three-part campaign features immersive experiences, including hot air balloon safaris over the Masai Mara, hiking mountains of Kenya, and exploring Watamu's coastal waters via paddleboards and dows. KTB CEO June Chepkemei said the initiative reflects efforts to diversify Kenya's tourism offering beyond safari, and efforts to promote activities for thrill seekers and nature lovers. The campaign illustrates a strategic shift towards adventure tourism to attract new visitor segments and boost international arrivals.
