Kenya Airlines is increasing flight capabilities and strengthening its long-range and regional operations through gradual returns on three Boeing 787 Dreamliner and leasing three narrow aircraft. The first Dreamliner re-entered the service on July 22, 2025, with the remaining two scheduled to return by December. These additions will support the growing demand for major international routes, particularly in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
To bolster its short- and medium-range businesses, the airline will lease three narrow aircraft in the fourth quarter of 2025 to increase domestic and regional connectivity while increasing cargo capacity. These moves form part of Kenya Airlines' broader recovery strategy after its return to profitability. With increased connectivity and increased frequency, airlines are set to offer greater travel options, support the wider African tourism sector, and strengthen their role as the region's leading carrier.
