A key border town at the intersection of Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia, Kazungura has launched a 12 million euro water supply project aimed at economic growth and sustainable development. The project will be funded through the SADC Water Fund in collaboration with German KFW and the South African Development Bank to provide clean water to more than 20,000 residents and support the high transport population across this strategic South African corridor.
Local governments see it as a foundation and new facility to attract tourist investment, particularly around the Zambezi River, Chobe National Park and Victoria Falls. Improved water infrastructure paves the way for ecolodges, hotels and agriculture-tourism development, while enabling large-scale irrigation and agricultural treatment. With strong government support and local support, Kazungura aims to establish himself as a competitive hub for integrated tourism and infrastructure development.
