US carriers JetBlue Airways and Tap Air Portugal are expanding their relationship with mutual loyalty program agreements.
Frequent flyers with JetBlue and Tap can now earn and redeem points using the program of your choice when traversing any network.
“This partnership expansion will provide members of both TrueBlue and Tap Miles & Go with a way to earn and redeem on their trip,” says Chris Buckner, vice-president of JetBlue's loyalty and partnership.
Tap is about to fly the most passengers across the Atlantic in 2024, expanding flights to the US with new routes to Boston, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Meanwhile, JetBlue introduces seasonal services from Boston to Madrid and Edinburgh.
Based in New York, JetBlue has mutual loyalty programs from Etihad Airlines, Iceland Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, Silver Airlines, South African Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines.
JetBlue lost $44 million in the fourth quarter, compared to a loss of $104 million in the last three months of 2023.
The company says it has made progress in its “JetForward” financial turnaround plan, but expects it to remain largely flat in 2025, year-on-year, measured in available seat miles.
