J.Lo takes the Red Sea in a Storm | Beach Holiday | Travel

With 14 restaurants offering 5-star cuisine, a luxurious infinity pool and plenty of activities to entertain the family for weeks, you might think there's nothing more to offer than a luxury resort.

However, in the showbiz coup, megastar Jennifer Lopez will headline a one-night concert on July 4th at Rixos Radamis.

She is not the only star that makes waves. Spanish Sensory Enrique Iglesias will proceed to the same stage on May 4th and begin the summer in serious style at the Rixosladamis Hotel in Egypt.

Still, even this A-list lineup can't quite surpass the natural wonder just below the surface of the Red Sea.

The crown jewel at this luxurious all-inclusive hotel in Sharm el-Sheikh is 20 feet below the surface of the Red Sea. There, the vibrant corals of natural aquariums are not only surviving, but also thriving.

The headlines of bleached coral reefs, disappearing biodiversity, plastic-suffocating oceans, plagued by environmental despair, find it almost rebellious to witness an ecosystem counterattack. Still, here's it: a full-color, living, breathing leaf system. Electric purple, sunburst orange and neon blues have occasional turtle cruising, like waves just below the waves, home to moray eels, puffs, butterfly fish, and the parade royalty.

This underwater Eden Fringelas Mohamed National Park – a protected marine sanctuary area famous for its incredible biodiversity and crystal waters. The hotel arranges travel with local divers who know the area closely. One guide, the cheerful Sudanese man lovingly called “Aquaman”, proudly scooping soft white sand out of the far-off sandbank and squeezing it as high as treasure. “This,” he said with a laugh, “It's pure.” Then, without hesitation, he rubbed it against his teeth. “Natural toothpaste,” he laughed. And he wasn't joking – his smile sparkled.

It is these moments – spontaneous, sincere, a bit surreal that brings Rixos Radamis to more than just a gorgeous holiday.

The resort itself does not show respect from environmental responsibility either. The hotel knows that the location is the biggest asset and is invested in protecting it.
Elkan Ildirim, MD of the resort, said, “We are blessed with this place, but we are also guests and we have a responsibility to take care of the environment we take very seriously.”

But don't be fooled by thinking it's all barefoot holiness and corals. The resort is also fascinating over the sea. The brightly lit gondola glides through a very surreal, pristine, artificial canal system, feeling like something from Charlie and the chocolate factory. And if that sounds whimsical, wait until you see the biggest outdoor stage on the beach.

The hotel features 300 dancers dedicated to the resort, as well as DJs and musicians who entertain each night.

During the day there is sunrise yoga, paddle tennis, a calm spa and a beach bar with invincible sunset views. But the kids are the true VIPs here. Rixos Radamis has built a miniature town for children. This is a bustling, downsized city led by children. There is a mini supermarket, police station, fire station and hair salon, all run for the kids under the careful eyes of cheerful staff. They can earn “Rixy Currency” to complete the task and spend it on toys and snacks. This is a great blend of education, empowerment and pure fun.

From science experiments to cooking classes, DJ workshops and theater rehearsals, Rixy Kids Town is more than just parenting, it's an imaginative world where independence and creativity flourish.

The service is not invasive and pays attention and the staff is really warm. One night we found ourselves in the cocktail lounge. There, a barman named Ahmed entertained his 19-year-old daughter and her boyfriend with smooth card tricks and cheeky humor. He put us in the stitches and made us feel like old friends rather than guests.

There's also a wider family behind the magic. Nearby sister resorts like Rixos Premium Seagate and Rixos Sharm El Sheikh offer everything in their own style, from beachside cinemas and Aquaparks to children's bubble parties and science labs. Rixos Seagate boasts a 24-hour patisserie and an exclusive adult-only zone. Whichever Rixo you choose, you are enveloped in comfort, colour and its unmistakable wonders of the Red Sea.

The evening is a highlight. The resort changes as the sun slides behind the Sinai Mountains. Soft lighting line palm shade aisles, live oud music floating in the air. And there is always a chance you will stumble over a surprising performance.

But somehow, despite the sensory overload, it's a quiet moment under the water with you. Drifting over the head of a coral, your arms relaxing at your side, your mind slowed by the rhythm of the ocean – it is impossible not to feel humble. Leaf doesn't ask for applause. It simply exists and lives rebelliously.

White robes, room service, Instagramable sunsets, green virtue halos, and more, aren't gauches enough to suggest that you can get everything. But I say this: Rixos Radamis makes a compelling argument about the possibility. A luxury with conscience. Leisure with legacy. Not only will you tan, but a strangely hopeful holiday.

And if you're wondering how to get there? Flights from the UK to Sharm El Sheikh International Airport take just over 5 hours and run regularly from most major airports. From the airport, it is a smooth 15-minute drive to a resort surrounded by Egypt's Sinai Peninsula coast. There, golden sand meets the Sapphire Sea, and special things always await just below the surface.

In Rixos Radamis, dul meets the intent. And sometimes, if you're lucky, you bring a faint taste of the tan, stories, and the magic of the reef on your lips.
