A former flight attendant who spent 16 years with the Virgin Atlantic has named her best airport throughout the UK.
Sky Taylor travels the world for her work, and she says that the “incredible” airport in England goes unfairly under the radar. She even compared the experiences to private jets.
Then, speaking to Express.co.uk, she said:
“I loved Gatwick before that, but that was personal because they didn't feel miserable from Heathrow, but everyone was happy there because they went on the holidays.
“But I say London City Airport (the best) – literally you make it feel like a private airport. Everyone is really great. It's obviously an amazing takeoff in the heart of London.
Skye, 50, is currently a content creator, and mom regularly shares flight tips on social media. Her attachment to London City Airport is something many of the capital share, considering it is just six miles from central London and just three miles from Canary Wharf.
Opened in 1987, unlike the large international airport, it was open from 4:45am to 10pm most days, and did not open until 10:45am on Sundays. Recently, it was named London's best airport in 2025. Which site is the site to choose from?
And expanding what sets it apart, Sky continued: “Just with the service you're there, everything! Many people don't actually use it. Say you're going to Amsterdam.
“The staff are really, really lovely and I feel that half of the problems are always calm at the moment in the UK. Our airport is not calm. Most people are panicking especially after COVID and with all these airline accidents people are being emphasized before they get there.”
In conclusion, the flying veteran said:
“You're treated very well, Heathrow is very busy and they're very expensive for security, so I think they often don't have much time to be polite to you, not to mention worrying about having to worry about security.”
