Many British people love a cup of tea or coffee the morning or the moment they check in to a hotel, and quickly fill up with water and bring it to a boil to make sure that tired feet are rested after a trip.
However, in a recent episode of ITV's This Morning, Alison Hammond shared that she might want to think about it before doing this.
“Have you used a hotel kettle? I don't want to go back again…” Their video captioned this morning, followed by a vomiting emoji.
The TV star explained: “A new report reveals that guests at five-star hotels are known to clean their kettle-stained underwear and socks,” he explained.
She looked visibly scary, as she continued. “I don't like this, but it's absolutely true and I'm sorry.”
Acknowledging that boiling water is effective at killing bacteria, people couldn't believe it, but experts were concerned that when people were using kettles to clean their socks and underwear, they weren't boiling it completely.
This means that bacteria are left in the kettle, unknown to the next person who comes to use it.
Allison even pointed out that washing the kettle might not be enough to remove bacteria.
“That's a very strange story,” Dermot O'Leary added after seeing the frustration and wondering why people would choose to wash small things in their kettles.
Allison said: “This housekeeper who cleans a gorgeous suite in Manchester said, “I don't want to use a sink so I'll be surprised at how much he handles the kettle like a general purpose pot.” ”
SheContinued: “She also added, “If there are no complaints, the Kettles are usually wiped out and just remain in place.” ”
Many people were disappointed in the comments. One wrote: “The hotel is tough. The idea of sleeping in bed is that I don't know how clean the sheets, toilets, bathtubs, floors etc., and I always bring my own cleaning spray, towels and pillowcases.”
Someone recommended using a “foldable travel kettle.”
The woman insisted: “This makes sense to me now! The last time I had tea in a hotel room at the airport was the worst tasting I've ever had.”
“A new fear has been released,” someone saw and said they would spend a lot of money on serving tea and coffee.
