It is named the most sunshine place in the UK, and it is perfect for staying | UK | Travel

Although the UK is certainly not known for being a particularly sunny country, there are moments of sunlight when pub gardens fill up and families take day trips to the coast. And even in summer we have gloomy days with strange rainy guests, but the UK has some sunny places that make the perfect choice for a summer stay.

The Isle of Wight tops the list, with an average of 5 hours and 8 minutes of sunlight between 1991 and 2020. Located just off the coast of Portsmouth, the Isle of Wight is a 20-minute ferry trip from the city, but it feels like a world-famous. Sharing a list of the UK's sunnystanding spots, Condé Nast Traveller declared this was “special” about this stunning island.

The Isle of Wight is also supported by the royal approval, and the island is loved by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, so a royal residence was also built there.

The Osborne House was built between 1845 and 1851, and was able to satisfy the Queen's desire for “their place” and enjoy peacefully and quietly by the general public.

Visitors to this imposing home, now owned and operated by British heritage, see the gorgeous interior and art collection and enjoy the stunning gardens outside and the unique Swiss cottages that royal children played during their time at the residence.

The island is home to many picture book villages with thatched cottages and winding routes.

One of these, Shanklin, became famous as the place where Charles Darwin wrote the iconic origins of the species when he visited town for 18 months.

Perhaps one of the most iconic destinations on the Isle of Wight is the needle, offering spectacular views of the island and its coastline.

Raise your chairlift into rocks or colored sand to make the most of the sunlight while enjoying these views.

And it's not just the Isle of Wight, which offers hours of sunlight, that CN Traveler shares that Kent has placed second in 4 hours and 46 minutes of sunlight.

Surprisingly, Devon's popular destinations were not on the list, but its neighbor Cornwall closed the top 10 with an average of 4 hours and 29 minutes of sunlight.

10 Most Sunny Places in the UK:
