To celebrate the 50th anniversary of 2025, Italian Gardaland Resort is set to unveil its latest attraction: Animal Treasure Island in April.
This innovative addition to the park is the first within the Merlin Entertainment Group, offering visitors an immersive adventure through the newly developed park area.
Gardaland is renowned for its thrilling rides and attractions, and will be the exclusive location for the debut of Animal Treasure Island, part of Merlin Entertainments' wider international deployment plans.
Park CEO Sabrina de Carvalho said:
“It will be a new, immersive experience suitable for everyone, featuring an adventurous spirit and an engaging and adoring environment.”
With an investment of around £10 million, Animal Treasure Island is committed to adding an unforgettable addition to Gardaland's abundant attractions. Over 6,000 square meters of immersive water-based dark rides take guests to a thrilling underground adventure filled with 20 seductive and extremely charming scenes.
Combining storytelling, cutting-edge technology and creative set design, this experience transports visitors into a mysterious world of treasure hunts, brave heroes and bold villains.
The story of Animal Treasure Island is built around timeless themes such as the struggle between good and evil, offering guests an emotional journey through dynamic stories filled with twists and turns.
The adventure is brought to life by a cast of original characters designed by Merlin's studio. These characters play an important role in depicting visitors in the story, adding depth to the experience and increasing immersion.
De Carvalho added: “We are confident that visitors are grateful for this new, iconic experience. Animal Treasure Island will be the world-class exclusive that will be available for the first time in Gardaland from April!”
Merlin Magic Make creative producer Mollie Page said, “The creation of Animal Treasure Island is the result of meticulous work by the Merlin Magic Make Creative Team, consisting of concept artists, digital designers and storytellers.
“Inspiration came from the need to update existing attractions and turn them into something completely new. A key aspect was creating a cast of unique characters. This was a task that required more than a year of collaboration with industry experts so that the characters could be memorable and connected with the audience.”
