ICAO focuses on developing and implementing new safety initiatives. Continuous improvements in global aviation safety are fundamental to ensuring that air transport continues to play a major role in promoting sustainable economic and social development around the world. The rapid growth of air traffic requires continuous safety monitoring and monitoring development at both the state and local levels.
Aviation safety, as a core of ICAO's strategic goals, can be achieved through the effective implementation of targeted safety programs that address safety flaws. According to the Chicago Convention, the responsibility for air safety monitoring rests directly with ICAO member states. ICAO will provide assistance to states facing challenges in solving safety-related defects identified through the ICAO USOAP Continuous Monitoring Approach (CMA). ICAO support plays a utmost role in ensuring that they not only implement corrective action plans in a timely manner, but also fulfill their obligations under the Chicago Convention and its annex. ICAO also promotes local cooperation and cooperation by working with other stakeholders in the civil aviation community through local cooperation and close partnerships with local organizations and local civil aviation organizations.
Implementation Planning and Support Section – Safety (IMP-SAF) is the main purpose of the IMP-SAF to support states in solving safety shortages and to support efforts to implement ICAO standards and recommended practices. With IMP-SAF Section Support, states will help fulfill their aviation safety obligations through promoting partnerships and coordinating support between state, international and local organizations, industries and donors.
