Cruise experts have revealed one common mistake recently when they saw him on a new ship. Genna De Laurinth, who was involved in a whopping 29 cruise holidays, recently tried out the latest carnival ship, but noticed an error that passengers were making at dinner.
She went on a four-night cruise from Long Beach, California, to Carnival Florence earlier this month. During the short voyage, Jenna saw “countless passengers making poor decisions” and said she was now giving advice to those sailing at the carnival.
Not only passengers who were stressed at the cruise terminal and packing the wrong clothes, but Jenna noted that many people accidentally waited outside the dining room for dinner. She explained that once passengers are ready for meals, they should check in using the Carnival app.
Jenna said: “Carnival has one of the easiest flexible dining systems we've ever encountered on a cruise ship. Rather than lining up dinner tables, passengers can check in the Carnival app when they're ready to eat.
“Estimated wait time is generated. Usually only 10-20 minutes. When the table is ready, guests will be notified to the app and can sit down to head to the dining room.
“This process is very convenient, but I always saw passengers standing outside the dining room while waiting for notification that the table was ready.”
Instead of waiting outside the dining room, cruise passengers will need to check in for dinner elsewhere. After that, once the table is ready, they can proceed to the dining room, cruise fans said.
Jenna added: “There is no need to wait in the cramped elevator lobby outside the dining room, instead passengers will need to have dinner in the cabin, or perhaps at the bar or lounge near the dining room.
“When the table is ready, you have 10 minutes to arrive in the dining room. This can be easily achieved from almost anywhere. Waiting in a comfortable lounge or cabin is much more comfortable than standing outside the dining room.”
She also said many people were unable to print their cruise boarding pass. Unlike other lines, Carnival still uses paper boarding passes, and all guests will need to print a physical copy to bring to the cruise terminal.
Jenna also said she's watching people stuff the wrong clothes for her cruise, with a visit to Catalina Island, California and Ensenada, Mexico. She said people don't have the right clothes for colder weather and urged people to make sure they are ready for their vacation.
