A British vacation director has discovered a hidden gem in Cyprus. There, the pints cost just £2.50 (3 Euros) and even a friendly pig for the company.
Sara Holden, 48, from Presor near Blackpool, Lancashire, fell in love with the Mediterranean island over 30 years ago and visited “every six weeks.” She tied the knot there 24 years ago.
Recently, Sarah has become the island's property owner and plans to “relocate there in a few years.”
On one of her recent trips, the mother of two came across Ricos Beach Bar, a traditional Cypriot tavern located in the popular Paphos tourist spot where local keo beer is served for just 3 euros.
In addition to cheap drinks, visitors can enjoy stunning ocean views and interact with local wildlife such as fluffy chicks and friendly pigs.
Sarah, who runs the Cyprus_Adventures Tiktok channel, which introduces the island's “hidden gems,” revealed that in 1975 the bar first opened its doors.
“Owners usually wander around all kinds of animals,” she said. “He loves animals very much, and the bar itself offers a warm welcome and boasts fantastic views of the local beaches.”
In the viral video, Sarah compared the prices of Licas beer with British beer. She captioned it: “UK: £6 for pints and atmosphere. Cyprus: 3 euros for kew, views, friendly pigs!”
Her Tiktok post quickly accumulated 51,000 views and sparked a massive amount of comments. In May, Sara highlighted the beach bar in Ricco as an essential visit for anyone taking off to Paphos.
Her video currently has nearly 230,000 viewings on Tiktok, with one fan commenting it as “my favorite place.”
Another enthusiastic holidaymaker said, “Keo may be the best lager I've had the pleasure of tasting, until I'm back at ice cold Keo at Ia Napa Port for nine weeks.”
An excited traveler said, “We're coming to Paphos next week. We're walking for 20 minutes from there. We'll definitely be visiting! Thank you for posting this video.”
Someone else expressed their charm: “Wow, so cozy and beautiful, I want to be there.
“Cyprus is a true paradise,” another commented, and the final user injected the whim of “MMMM, bacon.”
