There's nothing better than the feeling of booking a holiday. It can be a lot of fun to choose a flight, stay somewhere and research what to do at your chosen destination, but when the trip actually comes, problems can arise.
It is very common and easy to understand for people who have feelings of anxiety while traveling. But the last thing you want to do is to make your precious holidays both worry and nervous. However, the constant travelling pros have found the perfect solution.
Bronteking, a social media influencer with over 110,000 Instagram followers, has founded “Traveling Gals” to help organize group travel trips.
Over the years, Bronte has faced her own travel anxiety and has found coping mechanisms to cope with the stress that travel brings.
And in a chat with ESIM travel agency Airalo, she was able to share her biggest tips on how to deal with travel anxiety, helping her with how she felt similar in the past.
Bronte said:
“From the unpredictability of changing plans to unfamiliar places, language barriers, and even far from your comfort zone, it triggers anything.
“For me, it's about creating a little moment of calm that makes me feel safe and grounded wherever I am. I'm 27 and bring cute toys with me with every trip.
“It may sound easy, but having something familiar from the house and something that brings immediate comfort makes that difference.
“Whether it's your favorite hoodie, playlist, or the scent associated with your home, these little shelters are powerful.
“Finding something that will soothe you, and making it part of your travel routine can be a game-changer to manage your anxiety on the go.”
If you're worried about travel, taking that leap and booking a holiday might seem daunting, but according to Bronte, baby steps are what you need.
She said: “If you want to travel but feel that you're too eager to take that first step, I promise that it's worth pushing those feelings forward.
“Anxiety and discomfort are completely normal, but nothing really changes or grows in your comfort zone.
“If you make that leap, even if it's a small thing, you will bring you treasure and confidence, the most amazing life experience you cherish and confident, that you have no idea what you have.
“You look back and I'm so proud to do it, even if it's scary. Trust me, the reward is much greater than fear.”
