When I visited what is often considered the European beer capital, I was delighted that I decided to venture out to do one thing rather than staying in a tourist trap. During my recent interrail trip around Europe, one of my stops was Munich, the city I absolutely fell in love with. German cities are often considered the beer capital of Europe, as they are primarily home to the iconic Oktoberfest Beer Festival. I stayed in the city centre and was pleased that I did one thing while I was there.
There are many tourism-oriented things in Munich. These include Munich Marienplatz, BMW Museum, Deutsches Museum and Radidenz München. All of these are worth visiting and are conveniently located in the heart of the city, but there is one thing you need to do when you are in Munich. When you're in Munich, you'll need to leave the city centre and head to some of the local parks. Because there are some of the most beautiful beer gardens out there.
Munich is famous for drinking beer. Thousands of people gather in Munich for the Oktoberfest every year, and it's popular for beer drinkers all year round.
In fact, there are plenty of beer-oriented experiences for Munich tourists, including Munich beer tours and breweries visits. However, you can just wander through some of the stunning parks outside the city centre and find a gorgeous beer garden.
One of the places I fell in love was Cafe Gan Am Wasser. While walking through Westpark I stumbled over this place with joy. There is also a BMW Park there.
This little place was full of the strangest furniture, an array of beer options and plenty of food. The atmosphere was very nice and was probably a highlight of my time in Munich.
Additionally, there is a beer garden just a short walk to the other end of West Park. I love walking around the park and Munich is a stunning place to do this.
Even without a beer garden, I was blown away by the peaceful parks of the city. One of my other favorites was Olympiapark. This place is full of hillswhere to enjoy the best views of Munich and learn about the charming Olympics history.
Of course, there are several beer gardens here. It gives a luxurious atmosphere as locals lie down on a sunny afternoon and get cold. I also visited the English Garden, which has numerous beer gardens with traditional Bavarian food and beer.
English Garden is a huge park with woodlands, large open spaces, small rivers and winding paths through lakes where beautiful birds come across. It is probably one of the most beautiful parks I've ever been to.
There are plenty of great bars in the city centre of Munich, but like many places, there are not enough people adventures to go outside tourist hotspots and visit local parks where city residents spend time.
There is no beer garden, but it is also worth a visit to Nymphenburg Palace. It was a glorious green space, and its well-maintained beauty could not stop going.
I spent three days in Munich before leaving In my next destination, Stuttgart. The beer gardens in the local park that I couldn't visit include Hirschgarten, Flaucher, and aumeister.
