One of the smallest countries in the world is just 95 minutes' walk from the UK and is mostly visited by tourists. Europe is full of hidden secrets, some of them aren't too far away, so it's surprising that tourists have yet to discover them. But while it doesn't even have its own international airport, this small place is very hidden, sandwiched between two large countries, and even avid travelers can easily miss it.
Liechtenstein is a country of just 160.5 square kilometers (small than London) between Austria and Switzerland. It is relatively close to the UK, but it is a place that many people are not exploring. However, some tourists have challenged this small place and shared their thoughts about it. One of those people, Tiktok creator Mia Williams, shared a clip of her time in a small country, revealing what it stands out.
Immediately, one of the things that shows how small this place is is the sign post, which tells us how long it takes to walk to the place rather than driving because of how small and compact it is.
In her video, Williams was the first to go to the tourist centre. This is the only place in Liechtenstein where you can stamp your passport as there is no airport here. To get to Liechtenstein you will have to fly to either Switzerland or Austria and board the bus.
The country is known for being scenic, even if it's small. There are chair lifts that clean the green mountain scenery and many lovely viewing points overlooking the valley. There is also Baduz Castle. Baduz Castle is a place that appears to have been taken straight from a fairy tale and is where the Liechtenstein royal family actually lives.
Liechtenstein is so small that it can be circulated and walked around the country. This makes it a great destination for day trips visiting neighboring countries.
For those who have visited Liechtenstein, they have a variety of ideas about this unique European country. One Reddit user said, “Vaduz is a quiet location with a pretty good museum and a castle on a hill.”
Another share: “If you want the novelty of crossing other countries off the list, it falls into a relatively simple country, depending on where you are.”

Liechtenstein is located in the Alps and the official language of the microstate is German. The country's population is much smaller than the nearby cities and towns, with just under 40,000 people living there.
When it comes to currency, it's a place to visit if you're already in Switzerland, as it uses Swiss francs. Liechtenstein is considered the sixth smallest country in the world, with the Vatican being number one, with the remaining five being made up of Monaco, Nauru, Tubal and San Marino.
