If you're looking for a new place to visit this summer, one British woman came up with an unlikely recommendation – even though it's twice been named “the best theme park in the world”, you may not be used to it.

Travel expert Bonnie Laquitt shared video footage of a trip to France's “Best Keep Secret.” “It's definitely the most magical theme park I've ever visited,” she praised Tiktok.

Just an hour from Nantes, Bonnie claims the charm is “ideal” for a short break outside the UK. But what sets it apart from the rest?

“There are no rides here,” Bonnie continued. “Instead, we'll be on an adventure that travels through time, from Roman gladiators to Viking raids to legend of King Arthur, from 50 hectares of stunning landscapes to the wonders of the Palace of Versailles.”

Bonnie goes on to report that the theme park boasts 20 award-winning shows in a completely immersive experience for every family. Additionally, each show is translated into English, and its transcripts can be accessed via the park's dedicated app.

“The magic doesn't stop at night,” Bonnie added. “We stayed at Le Grand Sikle, a hotel inspired by the courts of Louis XIV. There is also a medieval village, Camelot-style tent camping, an ancient Roman town, a castle called the Citadel.”

To conclude her review, Bonnie said Pee Dufou welcomes more than 2.8 million tourists a year. “It's easy to see why,” she praised. “It's exciting and totally unique. It's not just a theme park, it's a journey of time. Add it to your bucket list.”

Writing in response, one Tiktok user welcomed: “I've been there a few times and it's really amazing, really amazing. The Coliseum is crazy!”

The second added: “I love Puy de Hou and I live in Nantes and have been there many times. The evening shows are amazing! The planetary Sovege is a fab and the best safari park I've ever seen.”

And the third gush: “This is the best park I've ever been to! I think European Parks are good for roller coasters (I don't think it's the best in Europe, but it's good), but it's great to tell the story!”

The UK section of Puy de Fou's website states that a one-night stay starts at £63.38 per person. In addition to access to the park and all of its shows, this includes breakfast at night (hotels in the park and partner accommodation near Puydou) and free translations of all attractions.

Park tickets minus hotel stays are also available for 1, 2, or 3 days of visits starting at £31.69 per person.

    The site adds:

“Some scenes that could warn very young children due to their grand realism are shown with symbols from mobile apps and visitor guides.”
