What was intended to be a relaxing escape to the sun-soaked coast turned into a major holiday disappointment for one UK traveler. Expecting a beach day and a good vibe, she found herself counting down the days until she could go home instead.
Tiktok creator Dannii, known online as @dannii_xo, recently traveled to Playa del Ingles in Gran Canaria and shared a cruel and honest review of her experience with over 3,700 followers. In the viral video, she appeared to caption the clip, undisappointed and unimpressed.
Liezing in what appeared to be a hotel bed, Danny looked impressed by the clip, but she was not alone in her own opinion. Hundreds of fellow travelers killed comments to agree, saying they had similar experiences.
One viewer recalled a recent trip to the area, releasing “I was in Playa del Ingle on the first day, went to the beaches and they added that nearby areas such as Masparoma, Amador and Puerto Rico provided better beaches and restaurants, prompting others to explore beyond Playa del Ingles.
Another user wrote: “We felt the same way,” the third commented. “Yeah, Playa is not the best at all, and there is nothing.
Others repeated “There's nothing there,” but encouraged Danny to take the bus to explore different parts of the island. Unfortunately for Dannii, her trip was already heading towards a rocky start, and seemed to exceed her savings.

In a follow-up post, she revealed that her comments were more specifically about Playa del Ingles than the whole of Gran Canaria.
“The hotel was terrible, and the locals had no reason at all, so it was incredibly rude. I'm with an elderly family so I can't travel too far.
She managed to visit Puerto Rico, which she described as “beautiful”, but explained that the overall experience was disappointing due to the empty price.
“I feel like I'm being scammed,” she added, noting that her family visited the same island two years ago and that prices have almost doubled.
