Whenever the idea of paradise is discussed, the Maldives are probably named or at least informed and described by most people.
With clear, turquoise waters and warm, sunny weather, most people will argue it is as close to paradise as you can come.
However, journeys to reach the Maldives can be long and expensive, such as long 12-hour flights or, in many cases, speedboat travel or seaplane flights to get there.
If you're looking for a holiday destination a little closer to your home, one travel enthusiast named Scott claims to have found a European alternative to a tropical destination.
Visiting Instagram, Scott shared a snippet and video from his recent holiday.
In the video, he wrote: “POV: You will find the Maldives of Europe in the cheapest and most unexpected country.”
This video kept showing off white sandy beaches and blue water. This can be enjoyed from a table and chairs covered in umbrellas on the beach.
Scott also raved about the inexpensive and incredible accommodation options with beach views and pool access. He then shared clips of many bars and beach clubs available for your evening activities.
It all seemed to belong to another world, but Scott reveals that the place in question is the kusamil in Albania. It is located in the Riviera in southern Albania, 15 km (9 miles) south of Saranda, near Corfu Island in Greece.
During the summer, Kusamil has become one of Albania's most popular and crowded beach destinations, seeking both locals and international tourists for an affordable Mediterranean paradise.
Despite Scott's rave reviews about the location in question, many people took him to the comments to share their experiences.
“That doesn't look like this… I fell into this scam last summer,” one person wrote, but another agreed, saying it was a “tourist trap.”
However, in response to these comments, many argued that it would be better when visiting early or later in the summer, as it meant avoiding the busiest parts of the tourist season in July and August.
“It's our holiday season, but when we go elsewhere, it's as calm and beautiful as the video. I myself am in Albania every year.
