Holiday makers share the top 30 things they do on a trip, and the list is long. This includes getting their haircuts for travel, checking the weather strongly and arranging care for the plants.
Other important activities include performing large laundry loads, packing snacks “accidentally” and replacing bed linen and returning to fresh sheets. Repeat packaging, purchase of new underwear, and multiple checks to make sure your passport is packed are also listed.
The study revealed that with a tablet or e-reader equipped with a movie, book, game or podcast, cleaning the fridge, purchasing a travel-sized toiletry, and repeatedly measuring the weight of a suitcase is also a common pre-holiday task.
The survey states that those preparing before the holidays spend an average of seven and a half hours, with over a third actively enjoying it. Many people took a break from work, especially to get everything sorted out before their holidays.
This is especially common among younger adults, with 77% of Gen Z and Millennials confessing that they spent time preparing for their holidays. Millennials, on average, spend the longest time preparing for their holidays, clocking in in 9 hours and 14 minutes.
Hidden in the busy beach scene is 10 items that many of us should remember to take us abroad. Can you find them all?
Zoe Fidler of LastMinute.com, who organized the research, commented:
The study found that 54% consider themselves as the ones who organize everything before travel. However, 25% tend to overpack “on a large scale,” while 21% leave at least some of the preparations for the last and last preparations.
For a quarter, they selflessly prioritize their needs when preparing for their holidays.
Zoe added: “We know that preparing for holidays can be timeless, stressful and expensive, but ultimately it is valuable, so we asked this study to fully understand what Brits need from summer holidays.
“We firmly believe that it's never too late to book a vacation. Booking data shows that this happens more frequently than you think.”
